HENRY RIFLE, "KENTUCKY VOLUNTEERS". Cal. 44. S# 11198. This Henry has an original frame, barrel, and buttplate, the butt plate has a mismatched S# 9928. Barrel has been totally refinished and new address and S# engraved, stock is new restoration. The fancy 19th century-style engraving and commemorative presentation are 20th century upgrades. CONDITION: excellent as refinished, engraved, and gold plated. Lever bent and missing part of spur, too short now for small replaced latch to engage. Mechanics fine, crisp rifling with pitting.
